The MASter Teacher Award

Sean S. Modjarrad

I have witnessed firsthand the powerful impact educators can have on the minds of their students. Growing up in the North Dallas area, I was fortunate enough to have many teachers who went above and beyond to ensure that I was provided with the necessary tools to pursue my passions. Now, as I watch my own kids go to school, I am further reminded and amazed at the sacrifices that teachers have made and continue to make to ensure every student is shown the path to a brighter future.

Unfortunately, all too often, our educators do not have access to resources that match their level of passion and creativity, limiting what they truly want to do in the classroom. As a result, many of our educators overcome this deficiency by using their own resources to continue to teach creatively.

Now that I am older – and some would say wiser – I would like to acknowledge the teachers that do not do it for the money or recognition, but instead choose to wake up each and every day with the commitment to change our world for the better, one student at a time. These educators know that building a better tomorrow starts by inspiring the young minds of today.

As an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Dallas, I often look back at my time as a student at Plano ISD and realize all the moments that helped shape me, creating my passion for law. Now, as a father, I am fortunate enough to see that same spark in my children’s eyes when they come home to tell me about the new things they learned at school. I see them develop their own passions and interests, facilitated by educators willing to encourage such curiosity and exploration.

As a DFW local with children in school, I am committed to a better future for our community, and our future starts with the educators who inspire today’s youth. Hence, I am excited to announce the newest MAS Law community initiative: The MASter Teacher Award. Through nominations made by the community, MAS Law will recognize ONE exceptional teacher every month and contribute $1000 to aid in their educational career.

We need your help to recognize those who selflessly work towards a brighter future for our community. Thus, I invite you to nominate an educator who has changed your life so we can change theirs. Through your nominations, MAS Law will make a difference in one educator’s life each month.

Sincerely,

Sean S. Modjarrad, MBA, MAcc
