A recall has been issued for thousands of doses of swine flu vaccine by certified health representatives. Many tests indicated that there was a possibility that the potency may not be enough to protect against the virus. The 800,000 vaccine doses were manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur, which are “pre-filled syringes intended for young children, ages six months to almost three years”. Health officials are not sure as to just how many of the doses have been given to children but they have stated that the children who have been vaccinated do not need to have the dose again. The vaccine batches contained full potency when they were first shipped out, but when the vaccine doses were testes afterwards, the potency had waned off while in transit.
