47-year-old Robert Ergonis, who was the ex-fiancé of Kumari Fulbright, a former Arizona beauty queen, has been convicted in a kidnapping and assault case. Ergonis was found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, armed robbery, and aggravated robbery in Court last Tuesday.
Prosecutors claim that Fulbright was dating financial advisor Joshua Conway when she asked him to sell jewelry that had been given to her from her ex-fiancé Ergonis. Although accusations against Fulbright claim that she later told Ergonis that Conway had stolen and sold the jewelry, according to the Arizona Daily Star.
On the night of the crime, Fulbright supposedly lured Conway to her apartment where Ergonis and another man held him hostage for 10 hours, tortured, and robbed him before he managed escaping. Fulbright was a former beauty queen named Miss Pima County in 2005 and Miss Desert Sun in 2006.
