Family of Naval Surgeon Received $17.4 Million due to Wrongful Death

The family of a 41-year-old Naval surgeon has been awarded $17.4 million in damages due to his death that was caused by an accident involving an ambulance.  Michael Mazurek was struck by an ambulance (owned by American Medical Response Inc.) while riding his bicycle.  The jury verdict is considered to be among the largest individual wrongful death verdicts in San Diego County.
