Drug Manufacturers Pocket Money From Consumers To Make Billions

Most drug manufacturers claim that they support the proposed health care reform bill by their settlement to take $8 billion a year of the nation’s drug prices after the legislation takes effect. This sounds like an agreement that would work for all Americans but what most do not know is that these manufacturers have been trying to increase the prices on pharmaceutical drugs at a faster rate than we have ever seen. Just last year alone, the industry had worked hard and succeeded in raising the wholesale price brand-name prescriptions by about 9%. With prices being raised by this amount, this will add more than $10 billion to the nation’s drug bill. The drug bill itself exceeds more than $300 billion this year alone.
