Airlines Waive Travel Fees Through Hurricane’s Alex Path
With the 4th of July Holiday around the corner, and as Hurricane Alex spins toward northeastern Mexico and southern Texas, airlines are offering policy waivers for travelers likely to be affected by the storm. Continental Airlines is waiving ticket change fees for passengers traveling to, from or through airports likely to be impacted. For some airports in Texas and Mexico the loosened rules apply to original travel dates between June 29 and July 5. Passengers with original travel dates between June 26 and July 1 for certain airports in Mexico, Belize and Honduras also will be eligible for a free change of travel dates if rescheduled travel starts by July 15
American Airlines offers similar waivers to affected travelers with its hurricane protection policy. If you have travel plans that could be impacted, check with your airline for ticket-change guidelines.
